The Museum of Cannock Chase

Open all year

The award-winning Museum of Cannock Chase is a great day out for the whole family. Located in the site of the former Valley Colliery, which became a mining training centre, the museum is gateway to the Hednesford Hills Nature Reserve and the ideal starting point for a visit to Cannock Chase. Whether you are interested in coal mining, want a hands-on experience of the history of toys, fancy reminiscing about Gran’s front room or want to find out about the history of Cannock Chase, we have something for everyone in our permanent galleries. There’s also lots for families including quizzes and interactive exhibits, plus a packed events and temporary exhibition programme throughout the year. Complete your visit with cake and a cuppa in the coffee shop, or bring a picnic, and browse our gift shop. You can also find out what else there is to do around Cannock Chase from our Tourist Information Point.
