It’s a great place for dogs and their humans but it isn’t free from dangers.
It is helpful be aware of what to watch out for so you can best avoid any accidents.

Risky Reptiles

Snakes emerge as the weather warms and like to bask. If concerned by curious canines, they may bite in self defence. Keep to the existing footpath network and watch out.

Biosecurity

Dogs love to get muddy. Wash your pooch down in between travelling from different sites. This will help stop the spread of pathogens and invasive species.

Dogs and Livestock

Cattle graze on certain parts of Cannock Chase. Keep your dogs on a lead if you enter a grazing paddock to stop your animal chasing livestock.

Ticks

The Chase is home to many deer - this means ticks can be quite common. If bitten you will need to remove it as soon as possible. Contact your vet for advice.
