Discover Brocton Coppice

You are on the edge of the ancient woodland of Brocton Coppice 

• Bank voles can be especially active in summer and rely on the soil to make their burrows. They will be affected by destruction of the soil.
• Soil is the second largest store of carbon after the oceans. When soil is damaged it releases carbon back into the atmosphere, exacerbating climate change.
• 1cm of topsoil can take 1,000 years to form.

What can you do to help

• Keep to the paths and bridleways to help ensure a rich soil ecosystem and carbon store.
• Avoid standing on/ cycling over any tree roots
• Don’t disturb or dig the soil
• Clean up after your dog. Bag and bin at home.
