Nature Rangers – Educational Visits
Nature Rangers
Free, educational visits for schools
Learn how to respect and care for Cannock Chase Special area of Conservation (SAC) and the natural environment.
The role of a Nature Ranger is :-
- To understand and know how to look after a reserve and its wildlife.
- Notice the surroundings and the impact human activity has on the habitats and species.
- Educate and communicate with people to reduce their detrimental impact on the reserve and its wildlife.
During your visit you will learn about the 12 messages of the Cannock Chase Code and compare them to features in the Wolseley Centre. Learn about recycling. Key Stage 2 pupils will do a special activity to learn about the decomposition rates of litter.
A huge part of the Nature Rangers Role is caring for wildlife. A long side creating a Heathland Food web, you will explore two contrasting habitats and discover the minibeasts that live there.
