Saturday 28th June Moth Morning – 8:00am – 10:00 am
Join Staffordshire County Council’s Cannock Chase Team, as you delve into the world of moths, that call Cannock Chase their home. Our expert will talk you through how we safely catch moths, how to identify them and their ecology. You will get the chance to see these amazing creatures up close and even release some back into the wild!
A basic continental style breakfast will be supplied, including tea/coffee, biscuits, muffins etc.
Once booked, meet at Cannock Chase, Visitors Centre, Marquis Drive, Hednesford.
Saturday 28th June Insectafest – 12:00pm – 4:00pm
A range of activities and stands for all ages focusing on insects including workshops on moths and solitary bees and activities for children lead by the SAC Partnership Team.

Some activities will be bookable and have a charge.
Saturday 28th June Children’s Insect Adventures
Families can join a free session run by Tanglewood Days outdoor education. Activities include insect stone painting, spider cones, minibeast hunt, build a mini minibeast hotel, stick butterflies and stick dragonflies.
Based at the John O’Leary Centre at Cannock Chase Visitor Centre, Marquis Drive.
Sunday 29th June Butterfly walk – 11:00am- 12:30pm
Join Alistair Hughes-Roden and Claire Studman for an engaging walk from Cannock Chase Visitors’ centre to ‘the Amphitheatre’. Learn about the butterflies that we would expect to see at this time of the year and see how many of them we can spot.
